NEWS FROM CHUDLEIGH TOWN COUNCIL: NOVEMBER 2020
Rural Skip Service
This is a service that has been provided by Teignbridge District Council to many outlying communities in Teignbridge for many years. In Chudleigh this service was provided from the central car park in February of each year. My understanding is that it has been invariably well-used.
The District Council have just advised us the rural skip service is to be withdrawn with immediate effect. This is a part of a series of cost-cutting measures that the council needs to take. The District Council advised that the cost of the service supplied to Chudleigh is circa £2,700. Multiply that by the number of communities that received the service and one starts to understand the decision taken.
One piece of good news is that The County Council intend to keep their recycling centres open during the lockdown. This includes the Newton Abbot centre.
