We are constantly reviewing our services and events since the COVID-19 outbreak, including the setting up and delivery of a Community task force and helpline to help those in self isolation in our community.
In March 2020 the Town Council set up the Chudleigh Covid-19 Community Task Force to help those in self isolation in our community experiencing symptoms (‘symptomatic’) or being in the Governments at risk groups. The Task Force coordinates requests for assistance and using our fantastic team of Community Volunteers provide help to those in need.
Food and Medication is our main priority, but we can also offer emotional support/befriending (by DBS volunteers), and dog walking. We are not a home delivery service or health professionals, our volunteers are people from our community that have no underlying health conditions, and are symptom free. Please only use this service if you are in need and do not have family or friends around to help you.
The helpline (01626 853140) is open from Mon-Fri, 10am to 3pm, and is manned by Town Hall staff. Anyone deemed to be at Risk is referred to Chudleigh Together or Volunteering in Health who have trained wellbeing coordinators who can offer more in depth support.
