Teignbridge Sports & Community Awards

Nominations open for The Teignbridge Sports and Community Awards – Sponsored by Kitsons LLP & Media Partners at the Mid Devon Advertiser

Nominations are now open for the annual Teignbridge Sports and Community Awards <https://www.teignbridge.gov.uk/sportscommunityawards> which recognise individuals and groups who contribute significantly to the District being home to active, vibrant communities.

Volunteers, unsung heroes, individuals and teams who strive to promote healthy living, volunteering in the community and the environment, across Teignbridge can be nominated at www.teignbridge.gov.uk/sportscommunityawards <http://www.teignbridge.gov.uk/sportscommunityawards> for one of the Awards, which are again sponsored by Kitsons Solicitors and the Mid Devon Advertiser.

This year, there are 14 categories to choose from – including the return of the People’s Champion Award, which will be decided by an on-line poll and by social media voting on the night! For the first time, Green Champion Awards are being introduced to recognise residents who make a difference to our communities by, for example, going the extra mile to reduce waste, clean our beaches or raise awareness of Climate Change.

The long-running Awards reflect Teignbridge District Council’s commitment, as set out in its 10 year strategy, to tackle environmental issues; maximise opportunities for healthy, active lifestyles; and to provide great leisure facilities, open spaces and events accessible to local communities.

Nominations, which are easy to complete, close at midnight on 17 February 2020 and those short-listed will be invited to the presentation evening on Friday 1 May 2020 where films of the nominees will be shown and their achievements celebrated.

To cope with demand for places, this year’s event – the 41st Awards – will be held at the Dawlish Leisure Centre which hosts one of the largest sports halls in the county and which will be transformed into a fitting venue for the ceremony.

How to nominate:

It takes just a few minutes of your time to tell us about your nominee(s) and why they deserves to be recognised for an award, simply click on the link to complete the online form below.
