NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Teignbridge District Council, in pursuance of the powers conferred upon it by sections 18A to 18E of the Representation of the People Act 1983 (as amended by the Electoral Registration and Administration Act 2013), shall undertake a review of the parliamentary polling districts and parliamentary polling places within its area.
The consultation period for this review will commence on Monday 5 August 2019 and end on Friday 6 September 2019.
Any person or organisation wishing to make a representation in respect of the arrangement of polling districts and polling places within the boundary of Teignbridge District Council; must write to: Mrs Cathy Ruelens, Polling District Review, Electoral Services Office, Forde House, Brunel Road, Newton Abbot TQ12 4XX or by email to email@example.com by 6 September 2019.
The Council would welcome any person or body with expertise in access for persons with any type of disability to comment on the proposals, or on any other matter relating to this review. Where possible, people making representations should suggest alternative places that may be used as polling places.
In conducting this review, this authority will request submissions from the Acting Returning Officers for the Newton Abbot Constituency and the part of the Central Devon Constituency within the Teignbridge District Council authority area. These submissions will be published and available for inspection at Forde House, Brunel Road, Newton Abbot TQ12 4XX and at www.teignbridge.gov.uk no later than Monday 23 September 2019.
The closing date for comments on any proposals set out in the Draft Order or Acting Returning Officers’ submissions is Friday 11 October. The Council will then consider the Acting Returning Officer’s recommendations together with any other representations made.
All submissions, correspondence, minutes and decisions relating to the review will be made public on the Council’s website as the review progresses. It is intended that the Council will publish its final proposals during November 2019.
