A38 Haldon Hill drainage repair and upgrade
Highways England plans, builds, operates and maintains England’s motorways and major A roads. I am writing to let you know we will shortly be carrying out roadworks near to you. A map detailing the location is included within this letter.
What we’re doing
We’ll shortly be continuing our drainage upgrade and repair scheme to ensure drains are better able to cope with severe weather events. We were unable to complete the works in a continuous programme due to other surfacing schemes in the area.
When will this work take place?
Start: evening of 4 November 2019
End: morning of 7 December 2019
Hours of work: overnight Monday to Saturday, 8pm to 6am
To minimise disruption, we’ll work overnight when there are fewer vehicles on the road. During the day we will keep the carriageway open as usual.
Please note that the precise dates and times of the works may be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. Where possible, we’ll keep you updated of significant changes via roadside warning signs.
What does this mean for you?
For road users:
4 November to 17 November 2019 - eastbound overnight closure in place 8pm to 6am between Exeter racecourse and Splatford Split. A fully signed diversion will be in place via the local road network. For safety reasons a 50mph will be in place during the day.
18 November to 1 December 2019 – eastbound overnight closure in place 8pm to 6am between Chudleigh station and Splatford Split. A fully signed diversion will be in place via the local road network. For safety reasons a 50mph will be in place during the day.
