Community Grants 2019/20
Each year the Town Council invites community organisations to apply for small grants for special projects or to fund the services that they provide to the community.
This year we received a record number of applications, 12 seeking grants totalling some £16,500. The Council’s budget for grant awards was £3,000 so something had to give! After lengthy deliberation councillors voted to award the following grants:-
Chudleigh Youth Centre: £500: Running costs, staffing and utilities.
Chudleigh Athletic FC: £500: Two new goals.
Chudleigh Baptist Church: £500: Retaining the CAB surgery in Chudleigh.
Chudleigh Pre-school: £500: For consumables and new toys.
CCP: £500: Defibrillator at school end of Fore Street park.
CADAS: £200: Production of leaflet “Living in a Conservation Area”. Comment.
Chudleigh Wild: £100: To purchase bat detectors, recorders and bat boxes.
Chudleigh Together: £100: Publicity materials for the befriending project and to meet the travel costs of volunteers attending training courses.
Chudfridge: £250: Ongoing running costs.
Newton Abbot Community Transport: £300: Maintaining transport services for Chudleigh residents.
