Tour of Britain Cycle Race 2016: Parking restrictions on Friday 9 September
You may already know that Britain’s biggest cycle race will be passing through Chudleigh on Friday 9th of September. It should prove to be an exciting day for the town with the race scheduled to pass through the town at around 2.50pm
The only downside is that parking will be banned on the race route from 9am to 4pm. There will be no street parking allowed from Bottlebridge Hill to Station Hill. This will include Old Exeter Street, Fore Street and Parade. These parking restrictions apply to all the existing parking and loading bays. The Church Car Park, and the leatside Car Park at the Sports field, will be available on the day for residents who usually park on the roadside.
Parking enforcement officers will be patrolling the race route
And will either ticket vehicles parked on the race route or have them removed if they are considered a danger to the riders.
The race organisers operate a rolling road closure to ensure the safety of the riders. This means that the race route through the town will be temporarily closed to traffic as the race passes through. This closure will probably be for around 20-30 minutes and will be sometime between 2.30pm – 3.20pm
